Our mission

Impact. Captured. Amplified.

Three words. One promise. Every story we help an organization tell ladders back to this line.

Impact

The work mission-driven organizations are already doing — the program, the policy win, the community served. We measure it at the outcome ring.

Captured

Documented with dignity by everyone helping an org tell its story, and by the platform itself — every shoot, transcript, and approval kept with its provenance.

Amplified

Built for distribution and re-use. One session becomes a month of pieces across video, photo, and social; one graph becomes endless next-best stories through Cue.

Our belief

Tell the stories of the helpers.

A better world is built by people who help other people. We exist to tell their stories — and to show, story by story, how much good there is in this world.

Most media trades on what is broken. The helpers — the program directors, the volunteers, the teachers, the organizers, the nurses, the neighbors, the kid who shows up to tutor on a Saturday — do the actual work of a more humane world, and almost no one sees it.

Every shoot we run, every story Cue drafts, every creator we place next to a cause works toward one thing: making that goodness visible. Funding follows attention. Volunteers follow stories. Policy follows narrative. Keep the helpers visible and the rest follows.

The mission

To build the visual storytelling infrastructure that equips purpose-led organizations with world-class production, an AI-native storytelling operating system, and a closed-loop intelligence layer — multiplying their social, environmental, and economic impact.

  • Most mission-driven organizations are starved of professional storytelling. Most visual storytellers are starved of stable careers. Most archives sit dark and unsearchable. We exist to fix all three at once.
  • We build infrastructure — continuous, software-leveraged, and AI-native — so an organization’s storytelling capacity compounds over time.
  • We measure success at the outcome ring: donations raised, volunteers mobilized, policy moved, carbon reduced.

How we work

Four values, in practice.

Storycraft excellence

Agency-level craft on every project, whatever the tier. Pro-bono and mission-tier work get the same creative rigor as anything else.

Equity & inclusion

Stories center the voices of the people an organization serves, with informed consent and dignity on every set.

Well-being & growth

Balanced creator schedules and real investment in the people who do the work, so quality holds over the long run.

Environmental stewardship

Carbon-tracked production, renewably powered storage, and remote workflows wherever they preserve the craft.

Lineage

Where the mission comes from.

1935 · FSA

Documenting a nation

Dorothea Lange, Walker Evans, and the Farm Security Administration built the documentation that made the New Deal visible, fundable, and politically durable.

1949 · Missouri Photo Workshop

The story essay

Roy Stryker and Russell Lee codified the 10–15 image essay: find an important story, build a narrative arc, document with dignity.

2020 · Good Miami Project

Stories for the helpers

Greg Clark cold-emailed Miami nonprofits during the pandemic and shot pro bono. Over five years GMP delivered 50,000+ images to 60+ Miami-Dade nonprofits and earned 21.6M public impressions.

2024 · RiseWorks

Storytelling at infrastructure scale

Formed as a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation to fix both sides of the problem at once — under-told missions and unstable creative careers. StoryOS is its platform.

Public benefit

A Public Benefit Corporation, by charter.

RiseWorks Media is a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation. We are legally bound to balance profit with impact, and to report that impact in the open.

Mission access

Seats funded for the orgs we serve

Subsidized StoryOS access runs through the Content Infrastructure Fund and margin-funded seats. Platform margin funds the mission.

Pro-bono capacity

5% reserved every year

Five percent of production capacity is held for pro-bono and sliding-scale work for the organizations that need it most.

Annual impact report

Third-party reviewed

Measured against the B Impact Assessment pillars and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and reported in the open.
