Delete Your Account

StoryOS is built by RiseWorks Media, PBC (“RiseWorks”). This page explains how to request deletion of your StoryOS account and what happens to your information when you do.

Request deletion

In the StoryOS app. Open the app, go to Settings, and choose Delete account. This option ships in the next app release.

Without the app. Email privacy@riseworks.org from the email address on your account and ask us to delete your account. You can also reach us through our Contact page.

What deletion removes

Deleting your account removes your sign-in and your membership in any workspace.

As described in our Privacy Policy, you have a right to request deletion (erasure) of your personal information. When we act on a deletion request, we delete or anonymize the personal information tied to your account, consistent with that policy’s “Your rights” and “Data retention” sections.

What we may keep, and why

Our Privacy Policy notes that we process personal information to meet legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations, and to keep our systems secure and prevent abuse. Where one of those obligations applies, we retain the minimum information needed for it after your account is deleted.

We complete a deletion request within 30 days. That includes your sign-in, your workspace memberships, and the personal information tied to your account. Anything kept under a legal, accounting, or security obligation is deleted when that obligation ends.
